With a special focus on strengthening Indian family systems the cornerstone of India’s social and cultural fabric the Foundation seeks to preserve and promote the practical wisdom embedded in diverse traditions and ways of living.

The organization believes that these traditions offer valuable knowledge for fostering resilience, harmony, and coexistence, making them relevant not only to India but to the world. By bridging ancient experiential insights with contemporary realities, Samhati Foundation works to address modern challenges through research and community engagement.

A key focus of the Foundation is empowering youth to understand and engage with Indian traditions on rational and contemporary grounds. Through research, internships, workshops, awareness programs, and interactive initiatives, Samhati Foundation nurtures young people to appreciate, preserve, and reimagine these traditions particularly the role of family in meaningful ways for the future.

About this Portal

In April 2025, the Samhati Foundation established the Foundation for the Study of Indian Culture (FSIC: https://fsic.in/), a research division dedicated to the scientific study of Indian culture. As we know today, the current state of the study of India and her traditions is in a state where there are less knowledge and more distorted understanding of Indian ways of being. Today, the social sciences and humanities, as we know, often describe Indian society through the European experience of India, which does not accurately reflect the Indian experience. In a way, today’s understanding of India and her traditions is a reproduction and sustenance of the European experience of India and her traditions, and therefore it is a product of a colonial understanding of our world. FSIC addresses this by applying academic rigor and scientific methods to re-examine these existing descriptions. By training scholars across various fields and fostering collaborations, FSIC aims to develop scientific frameworks to understand India and her traditions.

This portal features reflections, articles, and blogs from FSIC researchers and collaborators in English, Kannada, and Hindi. These works seek to address contemporary issues within India while offering a unique understanding of global events.
